Setting personal challengesThomas is a pupil with extraordinary drive, constantly pushing himself mentally and physically to make a difference to others. In 2022, he completed Ten Tors with Sherborne Boys, where he developed a passion for endurance events and a deep appreciation for the wild beauty of Dartmoor. Inspired by Kevin Sinfield’s seven ultramarathons in seven days, Thomas set himself a series of personal challenges in support of Children in Need. In 2023, he completed a 100km run in a single day — much to his parents’ surprise — followed by 200km in two days and an astonishing 400km in four days in 2024.

A talented sportsmanA talented sportsman, Thomas plays Hockey, Rugby, and — most notably — Athletics, where he serves as Captain of Athletics. In his Upper Sixth year, he was also part of a team of four Sixth Formers who created and produced a school sports magazine. His favourite memories at Sherborne Boys are the expeditions with both DofE and Ten Tors — not just for the physical challenge, but for the camaraderie and moments shared with his team. In the future, Thomas hopes to study Marketing at Aston University, while continuing to pursue his ultramarathon ambitions.
