Music has always been Sophie’s passion but earning a place in the 1st Violins of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain (NYO) has taken that passion to new heights. This prestigious opportunity has allowed her to collaborate with world-class musicians and conductors, as well as perform at the BBC Proms in July 2025, a moment she describes as both humbling and exhilarating. |
Sophie’s musical journey began at Sherborne Girls, where she has made an outstanding contribution as a music scholar. She has performed as part of the Senior Choir, Madrigals, Piano Trio, and String Quartet. As leader of the Joint Schools Symphony Orchestra, Sophie developed a different set of skills: clarity, consistency, and quiet authority. She learned that effective leadership isn’t about standing out, but about offering the ensemble a reliable foundation. |

Beyond the concert hall, Sophie’s intellect shines just as brightly. She is currently studying Physics, Music, Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A Level, drawn to the pattern, logic and structure that connect her academic and musical interests. |
