Transport Options

Thank you for taking the time to look at Sherborne Schools Group bus service. This sets out the wide range of travel options available to the pupils at Sherborne Schools Group. We are delighted to be partnered with Vectare, a specialist school transport management company, to assist us with the school bus service.

Confirmed routes to Sherborne for September 2026 are: Bruton, Gillingham, Shaftesbury, Blandford Forum, and Yeovil, alongside the original Sherborne Prep routes from Dorchester and Beaminster. Routes from Langport to Sherborne, and from Dorchester and Salisbury to Hanford, do not currently have sufficient demand but would be introduced if take-up increases.

Charges are based on distance from the pick-up point to school, with a minimum of 4 passengers per bus, and will be billed termly: £4.50 for journeys up to 4 miles, £7.50 for 4 to 10 miles, and £9.75 for distances over 10 miles.

Full boarding (catering for 90% of pupils in the senior schools) remains our flagship offering and the foundation of school life; however, we recognise the financial pressures many families are facing and want to ensure that day and day boarding places are a viable option for local families through reliable, affordable transport.
