Begin Your Journey
Sherborne is not one school but three, each shaping a distinct stage of childhood and adolescence, guided by our Separate, Yet Together philosophy - and each supported by admissions specialists who know their pathway inside out.
Whichever route is right for your child, the first step is simply to reach out. Discover Three Schools, One Journey to see how it all fits together.
Come & See Us
Sherborne offers something genuinely distinctive - a proven educational model, a commitment to character that goes beyond the classroom, and an ambitious vision for what education can and should be. We prepare pupils not just for examinations or university, but for a life of positive impact.
There is nothing quite like seeing it for yourself. We encourage every family considering Sherborne to visit - to walk the campus, meet our staff and pupils, and get a feel for what life here is really like, through tour mornings, individual visits, taster days and admissions events throughout the year. We would love to welcome you.
There is something about Sherborne that those connected to it recognise immediately.

GirlsFull boarding & day, ages 13-16 From Year 9, girls thrive in a single-sex environment where self-consciousness is removed from the classroom, subject choices are free from social pressure, and academic ambition can flourish without distraction. We want girl physicists and girl engineers, and in a Sherborne Girls classroom, those ambitions feel natural, not exceptional. Sport, music, drama, and the broader life of Sherborne continue jointly throughout. |

BoysFull boarding & day, ages 13-16The GCSE years at Sherborne Boys are where intellectual risk-taking becomes habitual, resilience is built, and a boy's sense of who he is, and what he is capable of, takes shape. A single-sex classroom removes the social noise of adolescence and creates the conditions for genuine academic engagement. Meanwhile, the wider life of Sherborne, shared with girls across music, drama, sport, CCF and the community, continues to grow. |
Sixth FormBoys and girls full boarding & day, ages 16-18 By the Sixth Form, boys and girls are ready to learn alongside one another in a discursive, intellectually demanding environment that mirrors the world they are preparing to enter. By September 2028, most lessons will be taught together - combining academic rigour, ethical leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation - while remaining separate where our experience tells us this serves pupils best. The result is an education that prepares every pupil not just for university, but for a life of purpose and impact. Discover Sixth Form as a Sherborne Boy or Sherborne Girl. |
